Today Dr. Resham and Dr. Nikhil Deshpande run it, still at Liberty Garden, for grandparents, parents and children.

How it started

A family dental practice in Malad, started by one dentist in 1978 and carried on by the next generation.

Dr. Narendra M. Deshpande opened Swami Dental Clinic in 1978. The early years were simple: one chair, one dentist, and patients who came because a neighbour had sent them. Many of the people who came then still come now, and some bring their children and grandchildren.

Today the practice is led by Dr. Resham and Dr. Nikhil Deshpande, who joined it in 2003. Both are registered dentists, and both see patients at the clinic on the first floor of Spring Field CHS, opposite Amar Dairy.

Two things have not changed since 1978. The practice is still in the family, and the doctor still explains what they have found before anything is done.

Directions and hours

We explain before we treat

At every visit, the doctor examines you, tells you what they found in plain words, and shows you where they can: on the scan, or in a mirror. Then you hear the options, including doing nothing for now, and what decides the cost.

You get the plan and the cost in writing, and you take it home if you want to. Nothing is done without your consent, and no decision is needed on the day.

If you would rather talk before you come in, a short pre-consultation by video or phone is the place to start. What happens at a first visit sets out the rest, step by step.

Talk to Dr. Resham or Dr. Nikhil before you come

A short video or phone call with Dr. Resham or Dr. Nikhil, ₹500. Tell them what is bothering you and find out whether you need to come in.
